I just tried the Krispy Kreme Cheerwine doughnut. I do not recommend them!!!

Thanks GoUpstate.com for the picture
The filling actually tastes like Cheerwine, which you would think would be awesome. However, the doughnut is not sweet enough to compete with the filling, and I was left with a weird taste that was something between a Bojangles biscuit and a hot dog (don’t ask).
On a lighter note, Starbucks Via Iced is the shit!
My daughter is here!!! She was born a few days early, but she is healthy and all is fine.
Especially her digestive system!

I don’t know for sure, but I reckon we have gone through 150-200 diapers in her short 2-week life. I don’t know where it all comes from, either! She only weighs 7lbs 4oz.
Pooping aside, I have to say that so far life is awesome with her. I already have trouble remembering what the house was like without her in it.

Since I graduated from college in 2005, I have struggled with not being happy about my work. I have often thought the problem is me. Turns out that might not be all there is to it!

This story is an NPR report about research done by Dan Ariely, a Duke University professor who has studied the economics and emotions of work. His experiments in this story revolve around the benefits of work other than money, and how our view of our work affects the quality of the work.

Once again, something I think would be fantastic, but which I am ultimately too lazy to ever attempt.
Today starts my summer project: to drink ONLY NC brews until Labor Day. I think this should be an easy task, as there are tons of great NC breweries around the state.

By the way, if you haven’t visited NCbeer.org, you should do so now (just click on the above image!). This is a fantastic source for all things NC craft brew.
I love beer. I loathe physical exertion. I need to lose some weight. How do I reconcile these things?
There is a phenomenon know as beer running: an activity in which a person or group of people jog/run from one point to another, with beer at each end. Commonly these groups will run from brewery to brewery, stopping to sample beers at each end. This has become such a popular hobby that Draft Magazine has an entire blog dedicated to it see: http://beerrunner.draftmag.com/).

As much as I would like to think I could run (I did run track in high school, but that was 10 years ago!!!), I don’t think I could run the Raleigh marathon. This does intrigue me for its social value, though. I shall continue to investigate the matter, and maybe incorporate it into my plans to run the next Friesen’s 5K Fun Run at the RBC Center.
In the meantime, let’s have another beer!

My wife is now 25 weeks pregnant and I am stoked. This weekend we (meaning a lot of people and NOT me) painted the nursery and put together the crib (which I DID help with). Now, every time I walk by the room, I get a goofy smile on my face. I am so excited about being a dad I can’t stand it!
PLEASE PLEASE GET ME THESE PANTS FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!
